GlycoWave ("we" or the "Service") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information is used, why it is used, and when it leaves your device.
What you enter: meal photos and descriptions, and how you say you feel after a meal.
Optional profile details: height, weight, date of birth, activity level, and health goal that you choose to enter.
HealthKit data: steps, walking or running distance, flights climbed, sleep analysis, and standing hours, only after you grant access.
Usage and diagnostics: feature events and device-level information through Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics. Meal photos, meal descriptions, and raw HealthKit data are not included in analytics events.
Subscription details: purchases are handled by Apple StoreKit. We do not receive your credit-card details.
2. Purposes
Provide meal analysis, estimates of possible post-meal feelings, and suggestions for the next meal.
Use step data to show walking activity and determine whether an in-app walking task is complete.
Understand feature use, diagnose failures, and improve the Service.
Provide subscriptions and paid features.
3. HealthKit and health data
With your permission, GlycoWave reads the HealthKit data types listed above. Raw HealthKit data is used on your device and is not sent to our servers or included in AI requests or analytics events. We do not use it for advertising or share it with advertisers. You can change access in your device's Health settings.
4. AI service (Google Gemini)
Meal analysis, post-meal feedback, and next-meal suggestions use Google Gemini through Firebase AI Logic. The app asks for your explicit consent before the first AI request. You can stop future AI data transfers in the app's settings; information already sent cannot be recalled. Your local records remain available after you withdraw consent.
Sent for an AI request: a meal photo or text, meal details and portion information, plus the region, health goal, AI tone, guidance preference, current feeling, and daily meal summary relevant to that request.
Not sent in the AI request: your name, raw HealthKit data, or payment details.
Google's handling of data is described in its Privacy Policy.
Analysis results are cached on your device for up to seven days to avoid repeating the same request.
5. Storage
On your device: meal records, walks, and profile information are stored locally; dinosaur progress is also stored locally.
External processing: AI inputs are transmitted to Google after consent, and usage and diagnostic data is processed by Firebase. This is separate from account synchronization; GlycoWave does not currently offer a synced account.
We do not collect your precise location, contacts, or entire photo library.
6. Service providers
We do not sell your data. The Service uses Google Firebase for AI Logic, Analytics, Crashlytics, and app security, and Apple for HealthKit, StoreKit, and speech recognition. These services process information needed for their respective functions, subject to their own privacy terms.
7. Your choices
View and export: view records in the app and export a PDF report or CSV file.
Delete: delete local meal history in the app, or uninstall the app to remove its local data from that device. For questions about information processed by a service provider, contact us below.
Withdraw consent: turn off future AI transfers in the app and change HealthKit permissions in your device settings.
Health and AI notice
GlycoWave is a general wellness and meal-logging app, not a medical device. GI/GL values, nutrient amounts, and possible post-meal responses are AI estimates, not blood-glucose readings, laboratory measurements, or medical advice. They must not be used to diagnose or treat a condition. If you need individual medical guidance, consult a qualified health professional.
